Hey Support Family!

This past month took us from settling into Costa Rica, back to the U.S. for family time, and now back again to continue the work God has called us to. It’s been a busy season of travel and transition, but also full of meaningful connections and

sweet celebrations.

Soon after arriving earlier this month in Costa Rica, we were welcomed by Elgin, a local pastor who is heavily connected with one of the ministries we will be serving alongside at, ProMETA. We joined a couple of their prayer meetings and it was encouraging to meet the staff face-to-face and begin forming deeper connections with them.

We also had the chance to connect with Sojourn and we are excited to officially begin serving with them soon. It feels like God is steadily opening doors for meaningful ministry partnerships.

The First week being in Costa Rica, we were able explore our new neighborhood and begin the process of learning what everyday life looks like here. Even simple things like shopping and figuring out costs have been an adventure as we adjust.

Missionary Connections

We’ve also been blessed to connect with other missionaries who have been faithfully serving here. One highlight was spending time with Angie and Dave, a missionary couple who graciously welcomed us and shared about life and ministry in Costa Rica. We even joined them in celebrating their foster child’s birthday; complete with a piñata of course!

Another highlight was attending a language school graduation, where we met and connected with missionaries serving in other regions. Their stories encouraged us as we prepare to begin classes at the same school tomorrow. Learning the language and culture will be a key step toward ministry here in Costa Rica.

To America & Back To Costa Rica

After spending the first 10 days in Costa Rica, we spent time in the U.S. with family. First with Josh’s parents and then with my family for my brother’s beautiful wedding. It was a great time filled with joy which was a gift before diving back into the transition here.

Now we’re looking ahead with excitement. Language school starts tomorrow, and we move into our apartment on Saturday. Both feel like important steps toward building a stable foundation for life and ministry.

Prayer requests

-Grace and encouragement as we begin language school.

-Smooth adjustment as we settle into Costa Rican life.

-Energy to stay focused on the mission each day.

-Ongoing provision and new partners to join our support team.

We are deeply grateful for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. Your partnership makes it possible for us to be here, learning, growing, and preparing to serve.

With love and gratitude, Joshua & Rachel Swift
