Hey Support Family!

What a busy month it has been. With both of us stepping more fully into our ministries and filling the spaces in between with adventures, this month felt rich and full. At the same time, it has required a lot of relying on Christ. Learning new rhythms, navigating responsibilities, and staying present in the midst of it all has reminded us how dependent we are on Him for his strength and fruit in this season. It has been encouraging to watch rhythms take shape and to see God working through both our responsibilities and our rest.

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

(John 15:4–7)

ProMETA

This past month marked the beginning of Josh stepping more fully into his role at ProMETA. A lot of the work so far has happened behind the scenes. He spent much of the month repainting the office and organizing, creating a space that will support the growth of the video department.

Alongside the physical work, there has also been a lot of mental and strategic effort. Josh has been thinking through systems, workflows, and processes that need to be put in place in order to build a sustainable and effective video department.

While much of this work is unseen, it feels foundational and important. These early steps are helping create clarity, structure, and vision for what is to come.

We are excited and grateful for this season of preparation and trust that God is using even the quiet, behind the scenes work to lay a strong foundation for future ministry.

Sojourn

This past month, Rachel had the opportunity to support the teachers by filling in where help was needed. Her first day back was definitely stretching. She was subbing in a room with older kids she had never met before, and they did not speak English. Jumping into a new classroom with new students and a language barrier pushed her to rely on Christ and remind her of God’s purpose for her here in CR.

After that first day, being back with her own classroom students had been such a gift. With her co-teacher away, Rachel had been able to step into a lead teaching role. That experience helped her feel more connected to the students and more confident in her role. Even though it has been very different from teaching preschool in the states, It has been encouraging to see relationships grow.

Alongside her work in the classrooms, Rachel has also had the opportunity to homeschool a couple of missionary kids a couple days a week. This has been a big part of what she feels called to as well. Walking alongside missionary families and supporting their children allows the parents to focus on the language learning and ministries God has called them to.

We are thankful for the way God continues to stretch and equip her while she is teaching each day.

Balancing Life & Ministry

This month also included a lot of simple, life-giving moments. Playing pickleball and paddle, kicking around a soccer ball at the park, having game nights, and getting out on a few hikes have been good ways to stay present and connect with amazing people that God has blessed us with.

These rhythms have helped create balance between ministry and everyday life, giving us space to connect with friends here and enjoy the season we’re in.

Fundraising Update

We are grateful to share that we’ve currently raised about 71% of our needed support, which will carry us through the next six months of this year. We thank God for His provision so far and for each of you who have prayed, encouraged, and given so generously to help us reach this point.

Would you continue to join us in prayer as we seek the remaining support?

Specifically, please pray:

-For potential new donors and opportunities to share our vision, even here in Costa Rica.

-That we would not grow discouraged, but instead keep our eyes on God as our daily Provider.

-For faith to rely on Him each day for our “daily bread,” trusting that He will continue to be faithful.

God has already shown His provision in so many ways, and we are confident He will continue to lead and supply all that is needed for the ministry ahead.
